HOW TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CLIENTS: TAKE AN ASSESSMENT TO GET MORE SWEET CLIENTS

HOW TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CLIENTS: TAKE AN ASSESSMENT TO GET MORE SWEET CLIENTS

Love is in the air…or is it?

Let me ask you this: Do you love your clients? If not, why not?

Have you ever taken the pulse of your client list? Do you know which ones you love and which ones drive you crazy? Here’s my idea: start an easy comparison chart so that you recognize which behaviors you want and which ones you should avoid.

Below is my very honest list:

CLIENTS I LOVE LOVE LOVE!

  1. Hug them

  2. Set reasonable deadlines

  3. I can’t wait to see them; adore running into them accidentally

  4. I overdeliver; can’t wait to add more value

  5. Respect my time

  6. Do their homework as a coaching client

  7. Respect my recommendations, but ask good questions

  8. Pay quickly

CLIENTS WHO DRIVE ME CRAZY!

  1. Formal handshake

  2. Everything is an emergency

  3. I heave a huge, “UGH!” when they call

  4. Meet, but don’t exceed the deadlines

  5. Waste my time

  6. Expect “hoping and praying” to change results (versus hard work)

  7. Challenge me

  8. Want to negotiate my fees

Good client relationships take work; call them, ask what’s happening, send unexpected gifts and reward them with praise.

How do you find the best clients? I’m all ears.

Liz
